The Mission of the Nu Beta Educational Foundation is to aid, encourage, promote and contribute to the progress of education, to assist in the advancement of scholastic standards, and to extend financial assistance to members of the Nu Beta Chapter or any other chapter of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta, who from time to time, shall be enrolled as students at Rutgers University.

Our goal is to provide, to the fullest extent possible within the limits of the resources of the Foundation, educational advantages, opportunities and facilities to such students. The Foundation pledges to exert constructive effort to further sound learning and to work for the improvement of the physical, mental and moral well being of such students by the establishment or financing of endowments, fellowships and scholarship incentives and awards. The Foundation may make or promote donations or loans to Rutgers University or any integral unit of Rutgers University affording or providing educational facilities.

Activities The Foundation Trustees meet periodically to consider various matters and proposals brought forth to the organization.  The Foundation typically appoints a number of committees for various purposes. Some of the giving-related committees are described below.

The President appoints a Scholarship Committee.  This committee determines the standards by which student scholarships may be awarded.  The committee also receives applications for such awards and recommends recipients of such awards to the Board of Trustees.

The President also appoints a Welfare Committee.  The duties of this committee, subject to approval of the Board, shall be to administer financial assistance as may be necessary for housing, maintenance and general living expenses to needy and deserving students, to the extent possible under the budget of the Foundation.

The President may also appoint a Committee on Educational Progress whose duties consist of maintaining contact with other educational and charitable organizations engaged in activities similar to the Foundation.

The Nu Beta Educational Foundation has had a recent change in leadership. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Col. Vincent Kramer '41 and Herb Newton '41 for their dedicated service to the fraternity. Currently, Bob Feder '72 and Bob Stewart '72 have taken the responsibility to provide over $7000.00 per year to undergraduates excelling in different areas, both personal and scholastic.
