The wonderful wealth of detail found on previous decades is largely due to the Chronicle of Nu Beta, second edition, which ends in 1965. This author does not know whether a subsequent edition ever came out, but if so, he does not have it. This should be conceived as a very broad hint to Contact Us and furnish any text, newletters, composites, etc. that would help to flesh out that decade.  Thanks in advance.

Recent news about Lee Schneider, who has remained involved with Rutgers in a very significant way.

Mark Siet, tanned and terrific, is ensconced on the Left Coast and has a web site, (several, actually).

We have some detail of the 70's from a copy of the Raritan Fiji circa 1974, found here.

Here are some contributions, fragments of memories, recollections, reflections:

"The 'Mucker', and the characteristic call said critter had to make when moving around. (Did we have to hold our hands up too while moving about?  I wouldn't be surprised, considering our garb at the time, but don't remember.)"

"When I had to pretend to be King Kong during Hell Week, fighting off other Muckers who were biplanes; the salt shaker was my Fay Wray."

"Wishoski, the only pledge to fend off a mugging and still deliver all the cheese steaks, intact."

"John Spencer Terhune, future Sheriff, in his "Spencermobile", cruising the streets of New Brunswick, in search of the Nifty Nine."

"The amazing ability of Stonebreaker to munch down Fiji Apples, and the time he put a worm in his mouth, and let the little fellow wiggle around between his lips."

"That hole in the wall that we shoved all those onions into; once we were brothers, we very responsibly went back and fished them out, so the place didn't stink to high heaven."

"The time M_____ B____ ground his greasy work boot sole into my brand new suede leather boots at a party downstairs. He looked me up and down, and grunted/laughed as he did his dirty work. Guess that kind of effete outfit did not fit."

"The time during pledging, when we were kibitzing and cursing while a fellow pledge was calling home, only to have him come out in the corridor and say something like 'Dang it fellers, that was mah Maw', right Bobby?"

"Paul Langan's Kama Sutra-inspired nickname"

"Going into the City to see 'Hair'"

"The way that out of state prospects like football players thought Rutgers was the Ivy League."

"The famous 'Crack of Dawn' remark by Molloy about Mike Yancheff. If you were there, you know the reference."

"That creaky dance floor."

"John Rabuck's never-ending list of made-up games, such as 'frisbockey', playing hockey with a frisbee. He probably consulted with J.K. Rowling on creating Quidditch."

"The time that Ed (D) Zito got 'pimped' by a bunch of all-nighters who decided to pretend that a mass murderer had visited his wrath on The House."

"The Snack, uh, Fella."

"The offer by Nifty Nine member Richie Green to take on all the brothers that night we got caught in the cellar."

"Spaghetti and meatballs, and beer, on Friday nights. Yeah."

"Study guides."

"The major Mass. contingent."

"The hippie pledges, and the 'greening' of the brotherhood."

"Singing to our parents at year's end; my folks still remember that; just told me about it the other day."

"Buddy Goldman's Karmann Ghia"

"Hockey fights, especially with DiLauro."

"Brooskie"

"The 'Annex' and Hairy Buffalo parties. I was present at the point in the party where the Ovaltine got thrown in. Yuck."

... "Don't forget the Lavoris as another realllllly bad ingredient of Hairy Buffalo in wee hours"

Fiji Day 2004 photo.  Seated, left to right: Dave DiPiero, the ubiquitous Leo Egan, Richie Green, Charlie Connelly, Pledge Trainer extraordinaire Dale (Whale) Gregorin, and Gerry Dameon, coming all the way back to the Banks from Arizona. Standing, Bill Nigh, George Preble, Alan Kaplan, Bob Tannhauser, Kevin Brady, Tom Donatacchi, Fred Billock and Joe Pinto.

Inquring Purple Minds want to know:

Is the personage to the right DiPiero or Churchill? I know newborns are supposed to look like the Brit statesman, but here's one that seems reversed; there is a strong resemblance of Churchill to Dave, to those of us who remember him from 'back in the day' (I know, I know, we didn't use that phrase back in the day).
The great, entertaining photos below of a cadre of four brothers on the loose in England and in the Dominican Republic prove the adage that the fellowship of our fraternity is 'not for college days alone'. Thanks loads to Charlie Connelly for the pictures and the droll captions; would we expect any less from the esteemed gentleman? (Answer hint: No we wouldn't).
