In 2007, due to low membership and attendant financial shortcomings, the Chapter lost its charter. After years of struggling to manage the finances of our 572 George chapter house, the officers of the Nu Beta Alumni Association decided to sell the property. This past January, an effort was undertaken to re-establish the Chapter, purchasing a new house, and getting the process in motion for re-colonizing.
On April 18th, starting with food at 6:30, and a meeting at 7:00, the effort will take the form of an Alumni Association Annual Meeting. The venue is Waller Hall, 59 Lipman Drive, in New Brunswick. Also there is a Google Group for those Nu Beta Fiji Alumni who want to get back in touch. Click on it and check it out!
On a more general note: We are always looking for pictures, personal accounts, recollections, ephemera, composite pictures, pictures of the house at 78 Easton Av, and anything about the fraternity system of any decade.
Thanks a million to Bryan Luoma for a set of images he sent recently, many of them scans of the Scarlet Letter, plus a 1968 composite. I'll upload them in the next few days.
